On 24th September 2025 TaTEDO – Sustainable Energy Services Organization (TaTEDO-SESO) was honoured to host a high-level delegation from WWF China, accompanied by colleagues from the WWF Tanzania Country Office (WWF TCO). The visit provided an important platform for strengthening collaboration and exploring opportunities for advancing Sustainable energy and clean cooking solutions in Tanzania and beyond.
The meeting opened with introductions of the visiting guests and the TaTEDO-SESO team. In his welcoming remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of TaTEDO-SESO expressed gratitude to WWF TCO for extending the opportunity to host the Chinese visitors. He emphasized that WWF TCO has been a trusted partner in the implementation of the Leading the Change Project and the regional Africa Energy Transition Project, in which China is also an active partner. He highlighted that these collaborations demonstrate the importance of global cooperation in achieving sustainable development and energy transition goals.
Following the opening remarks, Mr. Sago, representing TaTEDO-SESO, delivered a comprehensive presentation introducing TaTEDO-SESO and its social enterprise, Sustainable Energy Services Company (SESCOM). The presentation outlined the organizations’ focus areas, including modern cooking energy services, productive uses of renewable energy, awareness and capacity building, and policy advocacy. He also shared achievements such as the deployment of thousands of Electric Pressure Cookers (EPCs), solar drying technologies for farmers, and support to women’s economic groups, alongside candid reflections on sector challenges and opportunities.
A lively question-and-answer session allowed guests to engage more deeply with the issues raised, before proceeding to the technology demonstration site. Here, the delegation observed live demonstrations of innovative solutions including solar dryers, electric three-wheelers (E3Ws), and clean cooking technologies. The session concluded with practical experiences of food cooked using EPCs and coffee, providing a vivid illustration of the real-life impact of these innovations.
