Business and Market Development for Scaling Up Supply and Demand of Improved  Cookstoves in Tanzania

The business and market development project is a continuation of efforts to implement TaTEDO’s strategy for scaling up production and marketing of renewable and efficient energy products, practices and technologies. The objective of the project is to scale up business and market of locally produced improved cook stoves through market networks development and financing to meet basic and productive energy needs of customers in the six districts of Tanzania. The target markets for this business are households, institutions and small and micro enterprises (SMEs). The areas selection was derived by the negative impacts on natural forests caused by high demand of charcoal (Dar es Salaam) and firewood Improved cookstoves displayed in Ushoroba festival Kisarawe, (Kilimanjaro) as a result of high population densities. The project is funded by UNEP and implemented by TaTEDO in collaboration with social enterprises (SEECO)
