TaTEDO – Sustainable Energy Services Organization
TaTEDO-SESO is a non-profit sustainable energy development organization based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with support offices in Dodoma and Kilimanjaro. Initially registered in 1990 by the Ministry of Home Affairs and re-registered in 2022 under the NGO Act No. 24 of 2002, TaTEDO-SESO brings over thirty-two years of experience promoting sustainable energy access and services across Tanzania.
The organization collaborates with communities, private sector actors, government institutions, and international development partners to design and implement innovative, inclusive, and climate-friendly energy solutions that improve livelihoods across both rural and urban areas.
TaTEDO-SESO has been instrumental in establishing key sector bodies including the Tanzania Gender and Sustainable Energy Network (TANGSEN), Tanzania Renewable Energy Association (TAREA), the Tanzanian Chapter of the INFORSE network, and the Clean Cooking Alliance of Tanzania (CCAT).
The organization's work spans four core pillars: energy access, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean cooking — all anchored in Tanzania's national sustainable development goals and the drive to combat climate change.
