ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
We would like to express our gratude for the financial support provided by the UK Research and Innovaon - Global Challenges Research Fund. This support enabled us to conduct extensive fieldwork in Tanzania and organise the stakeholder events.
Our success is mainly owed to the cooperaon of mini-grid developers and operators, who not only provided us with praccal knowledge of implemenng mini-grids in Tanzania but also granted us access to their respecve mini-grid sites. We sincerely appreciate the heads and staff of government agencies, development organizaons, and business groups who shared their valuable insights on the governance and polics of mini-grid development in Tanzania.
We also want to extend a special acknowledgement to the Tanzanians who welcomed us into their communies and homes, providing essenal informaon for our research. The acvies presented in this report were funded by two research grants (ES/T006684/1 and ES/T006684/2) from the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), which is part of the UK's official development assistance (ODA) and is administered by UK Research and Innovaon (UKRI) and the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
The work would not be possible without the efforts and support of the team at TaTEDO-SESO. The contribuon of all team members is greatly appreciated. Finally, we acknowledge the valuable feedback members of the global SIGMA project team – in Kenya, Senegal, Nigeria, Tanzania, and the UK – provided during our bimonthly meengs.

The organization focused its interventions on the four pillars of sustainable energy: energy access, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean cooking.
The adopted approach included the provision of support services and fostering enabling environment. Through such an approach and in the efforts to achieve its mission and vision, a number of projects were implemented with the support of different development partners including SIDA, WWF, EU, WRI, UKAIDS, MECS, etc. We are sincerely grateful to these development partners for their generous and continuous support which helped us to successfully implement the following projects.
