TaTEDO SESO, through the ISU-CHAVPRO project, has conducted business and entrepreneurship training for the Nendeleni group at Chole Village in Kisarawe District. The initiative aimed to equip group members with essential skills for developing effective business plans, setting up businesses, selecting suitable business locations, and maintaining accurate business records such as tracking expenses, profits, and savings. These ovens are designed to conserve heat and significantly reduce charcoal consumption, offering a sustainable solution that could transform the local economy.

Field experiences have shown that the use of these efficient ovens has the potential to generate income for women and youth groups. The initiative aimed to build capacity of these groups by providing training and support to establish baking centers within the community.

The entrepreneurship training focused on encouraging innovation and teaching participants to adopt creative approaches in their ventures to differentiate themselves in the market.

Additionally, participants were trained on the efficient use of charcoal and were also provided with an energy-efficient baking oven. The oven is designed to bake various products such as bread, scones, cakes, and cupcakes. During the demonstration, 2 kg of charcoal was used to bake:

As part of the support, an energy-efficient baking oven was distributed to the seven members of the Nendeleni group. This initiative is not only promoting environmental sustainability by reducing charcoal usage but also empowers local women and youth, and contributing to their financial independence and community development.
